Can you believe it is December 1st already?  I can't!  How was your Thanksgiving weekend?  Ours was filled with fun, food, family, and friends.  We celebrated on Thanksgiving Day with my family and Mike's family (we do a joint dinner).  Then on Friday we had an extended family Thanksgiving/Christmas party.  Saturday we were able to spend some time with each other and rest a bit from two busy days.  Then on Sunday we had our first Christmas party with our life group.  Now it's Monday and we're kicking off the busiest month of the year!

One of my favorite parts of Christmas is giving gifts.  I love to surprise people with gifts I've picked out just for them.  This year, I plan on making quite a few of my gifts.  I have some fun ideas already for the grandparents!

Since I was introduced to essential oils this summer, I have used them in a few creations like my Citrus Body Scrub and these Lavender Lip Balms.  My first batch turned out fantastic and I love how the balm keeps my lips moist for a long time.  I made this batch with lavender because of it's healing and relaxing properties.  I plan on experimenting with other oils, like peppermint, in the future.

This lip balm was incredibly easy to make.  I melted the Pure Beeswax and Coconut Oil in my double boiler.  When it was completely melted and smooth I stirred in the lavender oil.  Then I carefully poured the mixture into Lip Balm Tubes with Caps and set them aside to cool.

I already gave a few of these to my friends who loved them.  Mike even carries one around in his pocket!  If you're looking for a fun and easy gift to give this Christmas, why not try these lip balms?
